Pine trees and cinnamon

Ahhhhh-- the smells of Christmas! We have finally put up our Christmas tree, stockings, and the holiday wreath. This might surprise some of you, but I really don't like (maybe even despise) putting up the decorations. I love the thought of the beauty, the warmth, what it all symbolizes...I just hate the clutter. My OCD (self-diagnosed) seriously kicks in this time of year and maybe if we had a bigger house, or more room for "things" it wouldn't bother me so much. This year though, the family room seems especially small. With all of Makenna's toys and babies and things, plus Bennett's bouncy seat, swing, and pack-n-play, we just don't have the space. I told Ben the other day that I'm not sure I can stay in this house much longer...I don't think he cared much. :)

While putting up the tree and watching the cheesiest Carrie Underwood Holiday Special EVER- I made mom mistake number 3,568-- propped up Bennett on the ottoman so that he could watch. About four minutes later, we heard a thud and screaming. I picked him up quicker than ever before and held him so tight...tears just running down my cheeks. Poor guy. Not that it was far, and it was on carpet- but still...learned my lesson on that one. Uh- I still feel horrible.

Anyway- Merry Christmas! :)
