She is SO dad-gum hilarious. We try and be serious, with a good scolding every so often, and then we end up laughing about it later. We have become better at not laughing right then and there at least....that's a learned skill though. It has certainly taken us time.
She LOVES school, talks about it all the time, talks about her teachers, talks about how they'll "be proud of me." I really wish she could go more often, but 2 mornings is about right for now. She LOVES dance too- same discussions, different teacher. "Ms. Jill this--- Ms. Jill that!" I know she thrives on the interaction, and as we all know- is not a shy child. Our PAT Cornelia, came for her 3 year assessment recently and she was very pleased with Makenna's progress...as was I!
We've had much better luck lately with her nap time/bed time routines and actually getting her to go to sleep. We have a little secret that I won't post. However- it's totally working and letting my sanity back through our door on Mulberry Avenue. I LOVE it. Thank God for Mandy!
And of course, her middle name is Grace. I swear, I swear- it's a curse. :) She is not the least bit graceful. Not the least bit. After her dead tooth incident on the headboard for her 2nd birthday, and then her fall on her toy box (which took us to the ER for $1200...OUT OF POCKET!), and now another fall with a busted, black and blue lip. We can't keep that kid safe. Does anyone have some pointers on bubbles...which ones work?....how much they are?....etc., etc. Please sign me up for one for the next 20 years. I think we're gonna need it!! :)
The conversations that we have with her are so 'adult.' I love that about her. Her new obsession is helping me in the kitchen while I cook. It's kind-of begun to be our thing. While looking at the recipe she'll say, "What next, Mom?!" "Do we need some baking soda, or some sugar, or some chocolate chips, or some...." The other day I was making lasagna. She automatically got out the measuring cups and measuring spoons- without even asking me. So cute- Of course I didn't need those for lasagna, but still- super smart!
