Top Ten

While I feel like I'm getting caught up in the blogging world, I've been brainstorming for a few days now some great Top 10's. I originally got this idea from a blogger-friend of mine (whom I've never actually met) and loved her idea. Hope you don't mind me stealing it, Kathryn. You're a true peach!

My Top 10 for Makenna...on nothing in particular! :)
1. I really believe she has nice manners. She's a pretty polite little girl.
2. The way she says "Un-kay, Dad" with this lower voice and sort-of in disgust...As if she's saying- "If I have to."
3. Her new-found love and obsession with princesses and fairies- a real girly girl.
4. She'll say, "I'm asleep...come kiss me up!" This is in reference to Snow White. What she means is come kiss me and wake me up.
5. Her teachers say that she's quite the character in class, as I can only imagine. She took a CD for show and tell and decided to 'float like a fairy' around the room. I guess the other students just sat there and stared. :)
6. She's so literal. I guess they all are, huh?!
7. She loves her little brother, big time. She's an extremely good care-taker.
8. Her speech is pretty funny too. She may need a bit of therapy if she doesn't grow out of the whole lisp thing. As well, she'll say ba-sketti and hab-murger...it's like she hears it correctly, but can't spit it out the right way.
9. She seems to think every Disney movie has a "mean queen." This is what she calls the villain.
10. She'll say, "Ahhh- Hey Buddy" to Bennett in the most gentle mini-voice.
11. Her love for animals is quite deep. She'll say, "I'll have a doggy someday!" Of course we will, Sugar.
12. I think she's pretty smart for a barely-3-year-old. A real sponge.

I really believe this is how I'll remember her.

And the two of them together- I just shake my head with adoration.

Seriously!? How does this not melt your heart!?

My Top 10 for Bennett...on nothing in particular once again! :)
1. My God- the boy has got some kickin gas!
2. His smile is simply amazing. I don't know if I've met a happier baby- honestly. Not just being a biased mom.
3. I love his chunky-monkey style...and I love knowing he's healthy because of it.
4. The way he looks at Makenna is priceless. Talk about understanding love.
5. He still hasn't rolled over...I think that's quite hilarious.
6. He will be in a completely dead sleep and belt out like he's having the worst dream ever, poor little guy. Makes me smile, but with a bit of smypathy- you know what I mean?!
7. He hears Daddy's voice or mine and lights up. I really love that, really love it.
8. He's independent. He's so content doing his own thing- must be a second child thing.
9. His laugh is still being established, however- it's waaaaaaay cute.
10. And man oh man- do I freaking love his hair!! It completely shows off his little personality.
11. He's starting to be a funny eater. He'll nurse...look up...smile....laugh...talk...nurse again, etc. I try to be serious and tell him to eat, but then really- it's just too sweet.
12. And I know I'm on #12 - Ben and him sit in bed before we actually go to bed and watch ESPN. I love that Ben loves that.
13. Lucky 13- the way his little lips pout when he's sad. His emotions are in a very true sense...worn on his sleeve.

Imitation is the highest form of flattery :-) Oh, and please tell me we did meet at Beth & Daniel's wedding?! Or, am I losing it??
