A great birthday!

So I am officially 31. My Lord- a 3, and a 1! I mean- for real?! I was 21 when I met Ben...isn't that crazy? If Makenna meets her future husband when she's 21, I might just freak.

Ben had asked my mom a few months back if she could stay overnight with the kids for my birthday, thinking it'd be my first night away from Bennett. It didn't end up being my first night away from him, which was probably best. I would have probably had a harder time leaving him...so anyway- a much needed break from our Mommy and Daddy world. Thank you SOO much to my wonderful hubby for a great 24 hours!

Ben took off the day from work, and we got some odds and ends done around the house. We stopped by Express to pick out a cute shirt, and then went on our way to Weston, MO. It's only 20 miles or so north of here, but a great little getaway. We stopped at a winery outside of town and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! :) We also stopped by another one as well once we got into town. I think we came home with 7 bottles of wine...Hmm- those "free wine tastings" sure end up not being free! We checked into the B & B, and then headed down the street for some dinner at Avalon. And yep- drank yet another bottle of vino. We talked about his biz, the kids, our friends, things we've done over the past 10 years...and most importantly laughed!

My hair stylist's boyfriend owns a hole-in-the-wall bar up there, so we stopped in. Hilarious!...talked about hollars and warshing and drinking whiskey. Good times. Our final pit stop was the infamous O'Malleys. This bar is an old pub, established in 1842. It's about 6 stories underground with such a cool atmosphere. They had an Irish band playing, and they serve their own brews. We hit the hay around midnight. Breakfast was wonderful- homemade quiche, cinnamon rolls, and yogart.


It really was my favorite birthday celebration in a long time. Just haning out with Ben- loved it. Plus, he bought us both new phones- double bonus! Love you, babe.
