An Easter Allergy

Surely our daughter isn't allergic to Easter itself!! She is allergic to something though- my goodness. It was our first experience with something of this nature- ugh...not too fun. We just about made another trip to the ER. My friend Kathryn would say that we could have used her punch card! :)

So I guess the story goes like this:
We were all out at Vicki's house for breakfast. She had gone out to the barn with Kurt to see the horse, the cat, the donkey, and any other little creatures that live out there. Who knows what she touched, but it was something that her little body did not like! She came back inside supposedly fine (I don't quite know the story...I was busy nursing) but complained of an itchy eye. Kurt took her to the bathroom to wash it out. At that point, everyone saw that her eye was swelling shut and there were spots all around it. It of course, was very red and irratated. She was sneezing and her nose was running, although all she wanted to do was go back outside. We tried to go the Urgent Care, but they weren't open for another 45 minutes. Same story for the CVS Minute Clinic...

Soo- we thought maybe we should give her a bath and see what happened. Luckily, the redness started to lighten up, the bumps went away, and the swelling was going down too. 24 hours later...she's a new little lady. :) We're glad there wasn't a trip to the ER.

Here she is in the bath. When she saw herself in the mirror she said, "Mom- my eyes don't match!" She's a smart girl.

omg that's hilarious. i mean, just the part where she says her eyes don't match! and all i can picture is that scene from Hitch when he has that allergic reaction. at least she didn't get that bad!
