Bennett had his first bottle of formula a few days ago and took it like a champ! He didn't care in the least. I still have a ton of frozen breast milk that I use and continue to nurse him when he wakes up and goes to bed. He is still eating baby food a few times a day and he tried a real banana when we were in FL. Supposedly, all he wanted to do was squish it. :)
He's now crawling on his hands and knees. Sweet boy- he had such bad rug burn from army crawling. His little legs were rubbed totally raw. And he's been in the process just the last few days of pulling himself up onto his knees. However, he now knows what to do and thinks he's pretty hot stuff. I walked into his room yesterday to find him standing up in the crib! This morning, it was the dishwasher door. Clear off the coffee tables- here we come!
Makenna's new thing is to have people fall in love. She has impeccable timing. She understands if Ben and I are arguing about something, or if we're either one aggravated with something. She'll say, "Daddy- you fall in love with Mommy, and Mommy- you fall in love with Daddy." This means that we have to hold hands and stare at eachother longingly. Then she'll say, "Now kiss!" In which case we do. Next, "Now you need to dance together." In which case we do too. Smart cookie, that one. Today she told my Grandma and Grandpa to fall in love. Once they understood what she was talking about, they thought it was pretty cute. They were married 58 years yesterday- remarkable! I sure am glad THEY fell in love.
And a quick quote too. I guess her and Ben were downstairs finishing up their dinner while I gave Bennett his bath. He said the conversation went like this-
M- Daddy, I love you.
D- Makenna, that was so nice. I love you too.
M- But Daddy, I really love Mommy better.
(I couldn't help but jot that one down.)
