Camp out

Ben and I had discussed a camp out for this fall, or within the upcoming weeks. We actually had even picked out a few dates and written them down. Makenna has been talking about camping all summer long. It's been just gorgeous here lately and we thought we'd take full advantage of the nice weather and boring weekend. We told Makenna that morning that we were planning on camping in the backyard that night...she was SO excited. She wanted to make sure she had a flashlight and snacks! :) She gathered her sleeping bag and blanket and was ready. And that was at 8:00am!

Bennett didn't really get to partake. He was in his dream world by dusk.

The tent set-up procedure was as easy as 1, 2, 3.

"Where do we find a stick Mom!?"

"I found mine!!" (I love her stance.)

And then she found some for the rest of us!

Ah yea...we used the grill to roast the marshmellows. What?! What's wrong with that?! :)

Favorite part of the night by FAR! Reading stories in our jammies with the light from her little purple lantern.

She said her favorite part of camping was wishing on the stars. And then right before we went to sleep she said, "Mommy- I think I just wanna sleep with my eyes open!" :) Awe-- So flippin cute.
