Bennett will be 13 months on the 11th! Can't hardly believe it, but 'tis the truth. His appointment this am went well. He's growing like he should in all categories. Seems to be around the 35th percentile in both weight and height. He's almost 30 inches high and weighs 22 pounds and 12 ounces. His developmental progress is measuring to be around the 15.5 month mark, so everything's right in order. We're so thankful for a happy and healthy little man.
As for other doings in his life, he's now walking everywhere, anytime, you name it- he's not crawling at all. There for a while, he'd crawl over to something that would allow him some leverage to get back up, but now he's even figured out how to stand up using only his balance. He can even crouch down to grab a toy, stay in that "frog" position, and successfully stand back up.
He also understands the meanings of more words and points at things and says "da" like he's trying to tell you what it is. He LOVES light switches, and can turn the light on and off. He'll eat anything you can give him, although still only has those four teeth. (I do think another one is on the way.) And it's funny to see him play with the toys. For some unknown reason, he loves playing with the "boy toys." Do they just know what to do?! Crazy.
His thumb sucking is certainly a problem in my opinion. It's All. the. time. Seriously...all the time. He walks around with it in his mouth, he rides in the car with it in his mouth, he'll even try and eat with it in. That's a bit excessive, don't you think!? He sticks his pointer finger up, and then rubs his top lip with his middle finger. I talked with the doctor about it, so we'll see. I'm afraid it could really hinder his speech.
Last thing (that I can think of) I might mention is his sense of rhythm...it's quite remarkable. Makenna constantly asks if I'll turn up the music "so Bennett can dance!" I love looking at them in my rear view mirror...
