Bennett updates

He's growing like a weed...and won't stop! I swear...every time I take a picture, I'm trying to capture the next best thing. And then I turn around and he's doing something else. I suppose that's the way it should be and I am thankful for the normalcy, Buttttttttt...and yes, there is a but-- I only wish it would slow down.

I'm not 100% sure of his exact weight, although I know it's gotta be around 15 pounds (if not more). He was 14 1/2 almost 3 weeks ago and I know he's of course gained since then. I have already de-tagged and washed some of his wintery 6-12 month clothes. He fits in them like they're no big deal. A girlfriend of mine who hadn't yet had the opportunity to meet our little man had the pleasure of meeting him last weekend. These were her exact words. "Oh- I bet he's sexy naked!" I mean- freaking hilarious...yes, Heather- he's totally sexy. Those rolls could kill.

He loves the exersaucer, rolling from side to side on his back, tummy time, playing with the hang-down toys on the bouncy seat, tracking objects, and looking at himself in mirrors. And man, oh man...does he love his big sis! Talk about lighting up. It is the absolute cutest thing!

And let's discuss the social skills for this little guy. His eye contact is impecable and his voice tones go from very high to very low. He loves to hear himself squel. He will converse with "huh." "huh." Back and forth...I'm quite afraid that both of my children's grade cards will have the same comments as mine did when I was growing up..."socializes too much." Oops-- I blame that gene on my father! That's a VanDever trait if there ever was. Bennett is most certainly no Serious Sam. He is oh-so lackadaisical...just goes with the flow. There doesn't seem to be much that upsets him, unless he's hungry or tired. And thank the good Lord I'm able to understand the Bennett lingo, or we would be in a world of hurt!

He's not the best sleeper, which is a new one in my book. Makenna was amazing- sleeping through the night and on a real schedule by 2 months or so. He, on the other hand...just plain doesn't care about a schedule, or letting me sleep. Sometimes, I can get him to go back to bed with a paci and some bottom patting. Other times, I have to feed him. And yet there's still the "I want to sleep with Mom or in the swing" gig. Neither of those am I happy about, but admittedly at 2:30 or 3:00am I don't care. :) I do have to give the little booger credit though. Last night he slept from 10- 6:30. Can I get a woot-woot!?! Maybe my good luck will continue.
